Description : Phenolic compounds occur universally in the plant kingdom and are part of a large and complex group of organic substances, with caffeic acid being one of the representatives. Antioxidants are compounds that act as free radical scavengers and, in other cases, as metal chelators, both in the initiation and propagation stages of the oxidative process. Phenolic compounds, such as caffeic acid, which have inhibitory effects on melanogenesis by inhibiting the enzymatic activity of tyrosinase, have been the subject of studies. Consumers are attracted to emulsions because of their pleasant sensory properties. However, cosmetic preparations developed in the form of a film or dry film are proving to be an innovative option thanks to their practicality and ease of use, since they dissolve quickly when applied to damp skin, leaving their components on the skin. However, few studies have investigated the efficacy of these products and their safety in terms of skin permeation.
